Ya Allah, send prayers and salutations on Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.

“What are the disbelievers waiting for, other than the Hour which will come upon them unawares? Its signs are already here, but once the Hour has actually arrived, what use will it be then to take heed?” (47:18)

“Closer and closer to mankind comes their Reckoning: yet they heed not and they turn away.” (Al-Anbiya’ 21:1)

“It is He who raised a messenger, among the people who had no Scripture, to recite His revelations (ayatihee, signs of the hour) to them, to make them grow spiritually and teach them the Scripture and wisdom, before that they were clearly astray”(62:2)

The Prophet (saws) said, whilst pointing with his index and middle fingers, “The time of my advent and the Hour are like these two fingers.”

In our book “The Syrian Uprising and Signs Of The Hour” we have chronologically arranged the Ahadith about the signs of the hour into the order the prophet (saws) said these events would occur in, what emerged from that effort is the fact that the prophet (saws) indeed foretold of all the events from his time to ours, one after the other, and because all the events can be placed in an order we can also know what will occur next and where we are in that order of events.

It is very clear then that we are now living in the time just before the major wars begin, their starting point is the Syrian civil war we see today, and then the Egyptian and North African wars with Europe will soon follow.

Hudhayfah (ra) said: “The Prophet stood up one day to speak to us, and told us everything that was going to happen until the Hour, and left nothing unsaid. Some of the listeners learnt it by heart, and some forgot it; these friends of mine learnt it. I do not remember it completely, but sometimes it springs to mind, just as one might remember and recognize the face of a man whom one had forgotten, when one sees him.” (Abu Dawud, Muslim)

Because we can place all the ahadtih on a timeline we can place names and years for when the events occur, which all leads to one question when will the end come. For muslims there are two “ends” they are waiting for in life, the hour itself and the end of Islam on earth before that time.

Abdullah bin Amr reported that a person came to him and said, “What is this Hadith that you narrate that the Last Hour would come at such and such time?” Thereupon he said, “Hallowed be Allah, there is no god but Allah (or the words to the same effect). I have decided that I would not narrate anything to anyone now. I had only said that you would see after some time an important event that the (sacred) House (Ka’ba) would be burnt and it would happen and definitely happen.” He then reported that Allah’s Messenger said: The Dajjal will appear in my Ummah and he will stay (in the world) for forty — I cannot say whether he meant forty days, forty months or forty years. Allah will then send Isa (a.s), son of Mary, who will resemble Urwah ibn Mas’ud. He (Isa (a.s) Christ) will chase him and kill him, (Isa will then live for 40 years and die). Then people will live for (a further) seven years, during which time there will be no rancor between any two persons. After that Allah will send a cold wind from the direction of Syria. None will survive on Earth, having a speck of good in him or faith in him: he will die. Even if some among you were to enter the innermost part of the mountain, this wind would reach that place also and cause your death. I heard Allah’s Apostle (peace be upon him) as saying: Only the wicked people will survive and they will be as careless as birds with the characteristics of beasts. They will never appreciate good nor condemn evil. (Muslim, Book 40, No.7023) Continue reading

Arranging The Ahadith In The Book The Syrian Uprising and Signs Of The Hour

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

The Syrian Uprising and Sings of The Hour 2014-12-06 09-34-32

Assalamu Alaikum

A number of years ago i began research for another book entitled “The Lifespan of this Ummah and It’s History According to Prophetic Narration’s from Beginning to End”, it was a chronological arrangement of the prophetic Narration’s about the signs of the hour which simultaneously focused on the many Ahadith which indicated that the age span of this Ummah (how long Islam would remain on earth) was known to Rasul Allah (saws). All things were shown to the prophet (saws) except for five matters, He (saws) did not know when the hour itself would occur but knew everything else before hand.

The Ahadith are far to many to mention here but it is enough to mention that Imam Bukhari narrates seven ahadith in his Sahih regarding the matter while Imam Ibn Hajar in his famous Tafsir (exegesis) to Sahih Bukhari, ‘Fath al Bari’ commented on this giving a specific lifespan for Islam.

Since we are at the end of time we have the advantage of hindsight scholars from previous era’s did not, most of the events have already occurred with only the major signs remaining.

Yet hardly any new books have been written on the subject, most printed works are those of Imam Ibn Kathir, whose work is extremely accurate after recent investigation’s, but lacked precision and finality in pinpointing specific events that have occurred in our life, since he was talking about a distant future, while to us it is all history. The Imam for instance would arrange three or four narration’s under a specific heading and then arrange all of these headings in a larger timeline, but the narration’s themselves would not be in any specific order only the title’s.

The book is still being researched and is a larger scope than this present work, it cover’s Al Malhama Kubra (the Great Battle) in greater detail, the events surrounding the Dajjaal (Allah’s curse be upon him) and their interpretation and identifying who Yajuj wa Majuj are along with were they are, and the Lifespan of the Ummah, or how long will Islam be on earth for, scholars like Imam Abu Dawwud and Imam Tirmidhi in their respective collections similarly narrated numerous ahadith regarding this subject.

Hence most of the essential research for this book came from that effort, i have generally avoided discussion’s on methodology throughout the book for the sake of being brief and not because that investigation wasn’t carried out as i know some would like to ponder over it.

So Insha Allah we will give a brief discussion on the chronology and methodology we employed to arrive at the order in this book.

Finding and identifying the exact order of events in a large number of Ahadith was the result of a number of years of study and research into the subject, hence stating that a narration was speaking about a specific event was not done in haste or with ease.

After investigation it became very clear that in order to simplify matters we could divide narration’s into those that spoke of events before the Fall of Islam’s last Khalifah, most of which is History and easy to identify and narration’s that spoke about the last one hundred years, our present time and those of future events.

In terms of narration’s speaking about modern events the Hadith which Imam Ibn Kathir labeled “The Fitnah of the Saddlebag” is key to all modern events, it gives a list of most of the modern trials (fitan’s) the prophet (saws) spoke of and a chronology that ends with the Dajjaal (Allah’s curse be upon him) himself, spanning decades.

Abdullah ibn ‘Umar said, “While we were seated with the Messenger of Allah, he mentioned the tribulations, and he mentioned much about them until he discussed the trial of the saddlebags.” Someone said, “O Messenger of Allah, what is the trial of the saddlebags?” He said, “It is the usurping of wealth and the fleeing. Then there is the trial of As-Saraa (espionage and spying) — it’s Dakhal or smoke. Underneath my feet is a man from the people of my household who claims that he is my son (or direct descendent) but he is not from me; indeed my Awliya (companions or helpers) are only those who are the Muttaqoon (those who fear Allah). Then people will gather and agree upon a man, (but it will be an agreement that is) like a hip on a rib (temporary). Then there will be the Duhaimaa (black, dark, catastrophic) trial. It will afflict every single person from this Nation. When it will be said that it is over, it will return; during it, a man will be a believer in the morning and a disbeliever in the night. (This will continue) until people will go to two Fustaats (group’s) — the Fustaat of Eemaan (faith), in which there is no hypocrisy, and the Fustaat of hypocrisy, in which there is no Eemaan (faith). And when that will come to you (the sorting is finished), wait for the Dajjaal on that day or on the morrow.” (Abu Dawood) Continue reading

Yajooj And Majooj (Gog And Magog)

Book of the End: Great Trials and Tribulations

By Ibn Katheer

After ‘Eesa ibn Maryam kills the Dajjaal, Yajooj and Majooj (Gog and Magog) will come out. And through the blessings of ‘Eesa’s supplications, Allah will then destroy them in a single night. Allah it said:

“Until when Yajooj and Maim] (Gog and Magog) are let loose (from their barrier), and they swoop down from every mound. And the true promise (Day of Resurrection) shall draw near (of fulfillment). Then (when mankind is resurrected from their graves), you shall see the eyes of the disbelievers fixedly stare in horror. (They will say): “Woe to us! We were indeed heedless of this; nay, but we were Zalimoon (polytheists and wrongdoers, etc.). “Qur’an 21:96-97.

And Allah said regarding the story of Thil-Qarnain:

“Then he followed (another way), until, when he reached between two mountains, he found, before (near) them (those two mountains), a people who scarcely understood a word. They said: “O Dhul-Qarnain! Verily! Yalu] and Majuj (Gog and Magog) are doing great mischief in the land. Shall we then pay you a tribute in order that you might erect a barrier between us and them?” He said: “That (wealth, authority, and power) in which my Lord had established me is better (than your tribute). So help me with strength (of men). I will erect between you and them a barrier.”

“Give me pieces (blocks) of iron,” then, when he had filled up the gap between the two mountain-cliffs, he said: “Blow,” till when he had made it (red as) fire, he said: “Bring me molten copper to pour over it.” So they (Yajuj and Majuj (Gag and Magog)) were made powerless to scale it or dig through it. (Dhul-Qarnain) said: “This is a mercy from my Lord, but when the Promise of my Lord comes, He shall level it down to the ground. And the Promise of my Lord is ever true.” And on that Day (i.e. the Day Ya’juj and Ma’juj (Gog and Magog) will come out), We shall leave them to surge like waves on one another, and the Trumpet will be blown, and We shall collect them all together.” Qur’an 18: 85-99.

In the Tafseer of the story of Dhul-Qarnain – that he built the barrier from iron and copper between two mountains – we mentioned that Dhul-Qarnain said, “This is a mercy from my Lord — that through the barrier, this people who spread corruption in the earth are separated from the people.” “But when the Promise of my Lord comes”. this is referring to the time when the barrier will be destroyed and leveled down to the ground. “And the Promise of my Lord is ever true”: i.e., this matter must come to pass. And at that time, Allah “shall leave them to surge like waves on one another.” And then they will go forth among the people, traveling quickly through every mound. After that time, the trumpet will be blown. In another Verse, Allah said:

“Until, when Ya’jooj and Majuj (Gag and Magog) are let loose (from their barrier), and they swoop down from every mound. And the true promise (Day of Resurrection) shall draw near (of fulfillment). Then (when mankind is resurrected from their graves), you shall see the eyes of the disbelievers fixedly stare in horror ‘ Qur’an 21:96, 97. Continue reading

Eesa Ibn Maryam

Book of the End: Great Trials and Tribulations

By Ibn Katheer

The Messenger of Allah ‘Eesa Ibn Maryam Will Descend From The Heaven Of The Earth To The Earth At The End Of Time

Allah said:

“And because of their saying (in boast), “We killed Messiah ‘Eesa (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary), the Messenger of Allah,” . but they killed him not, nor crucified him, but the resemblance of ‘Eesa (Jesus) was put over another man (and they killed that man), and those who differ therein are full of doubts. They have no (certain) knowledge, they follow nothing but conjecture. For surely; they killed him not (i.e. ‘Eesa (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary). But Allah raised him (‘Eesa) up (with his body and soul) unto Himself (and he is in the heavens). And Allah is Ever All-Powerful, All-Wise” Qur’an 4:157,158

“And there is none of the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians), but must believe in him (‘Eesa, as only a Messenger of Allah and a human being), before his death” Qur’an 4:159

Regarding “before his death” in this last Verse, Ibn Jareer related in his Tafseer that Ibn ‘Abbaas) said, “Before the death of ‘Eesa Ibn Maryam.” The chain of this narration is authentic.

Did ‘Eesa Die Or Was He Raised Alive To The Sky?

“And there is none of the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians), but must believe in him (‘Eesa, as only a Messenger of Allah and a human being), before his death” Qur’an 4:159

Regarding this verse, Abu Maalik said that it is referring to when ‘Eesa ibn Maryam will descend and that he is now alive with Allah When he will descend, all will believe in him. Ibn Jareer related this. Ibn Abee Haatim related that a man asked Al-Hasan about this Verse:

“And there is none of the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians), but must believe in him (‘Eesa, as only a Messenger of Allah and a human being), before his death” Qur’an 4:159.

Al-Hasan said, “Before the death of ‘Eesa, Allah raised ‘Eesa to Him and He it will send him (back) before the Day of Resurrection, in a situation wherein both the righteous one and the wicked one will believe in him.” Qataadah ibn Du’aamah, ‘Abdur-Rahmaan ibn Yazeed Ibn Aslam, and others have said the same, which is also established in Bukhaaree and Muslim from Abu Hurairah. As we will mention, one narration is Matiqoof (i.e. Abu Hurairah said it) and another is Marfoo’ (i.e., Abu Hurairah related it from the Prophet A). And Allah’ knows best.

The point is that ‘Eesa ill is alive now in the heavens, and he was not, as the People of the Book claim, crucified; instead, Allah it raised Mm to Him. Before the Day of Resurrection, ‘Eesa will descend from the sky; such is related in Mutawaatir Hadeeth narrations, both in the Ahaadeeth we related regarding the Dajjaal and the Ahaadeeth we will mention shortly. We seek help from Allah and depend upon Him alone. There is neither might nor power except with Allah, the Most-Powerful, the All-Wise, the Most High, the All-Mighty. None has the right to be worshipped but Allah, the Lord of the Noble ‘Arsh (Throne).

It is related from Ibn ‘Abbaas and others that the antecedent of the pronoun in “before his death” is every individual from the People of the Book; if this is authentically narrated from him, then it is contrary to what we have said. But in actuality, the correct meaning and chain of narration is what we have previously mentioned, and what we have explained in sufficient detail in the Book of Tafseer. All praise is for Allah, and all favors and blessings are from Him. Continue reading
